What people are saying about God is a Gift

God is a Gift paints a bold picture of God's bold grace with deft strokes and brilliant hues of understanding and accessibility.
Jonathan Futch, Pastor and Missionary

After reading this book, I walked around thinking to myself, "God loves me. He adores me. He LOVES hanging out with me." It was awesome!
From the blog Big Mouth Strikes Again

This book is simalar in ways to "The Normal Christian Life" by Watchman Nee and in my opinion just as indespensible.
Seth Roach from Straight Plow

Doug Reed tells us about knowing God in a Johannine/Pauline sense of gnosis - familiarity to such an extent we actually participate in the life of the Crucified and Risen Christ. This bears reading, re-reading, lending out, and remembering.
From the blog Desert Spirit's Fire

A great book for the believer to grow in their understanding of how faith in the work of Christ can transform our relationship with the Father and each other. Anyone struggling with insecurities in their spiritual walk will be encouraged and strengthened to see themselves in their new identity as God’s child.

The Author

Doug Reed has been the pastor at the world renowned Thorncrown Chapel in Eureka Springs, Arkansas for 32 years. When Doug first came to Thorncrown in 1984, he believed it was the beginning of his ministry, but really it was the beginning of his journey into God’s grace. Writing God is a Gift was his way of telling that tale.

Reed’s vision today is to share the good news of God’s great gift with all those who come to Thorncrown Chapel. He preaches to the chapel's daily visitors and more formally on Sundays. He also has been the editor of the Thorncrown Journal in its printed and internet formats for 19 years. Reed lives in the quaint tourist town of Eureka Springs. It is located in Northwest Arkansas in the beautiful Ozark hills.  He and his wife Ann have three children, all in college.
